Americans may lead planet in working past retirement age

Posted by Levi Dynon On Feb - 27 - 2017

Heres an interesting footnote to our recent blog post “Will retirement-delaying baby boomers hog too many jobs?” …

According to a press release from the insurer Aviva, 57 percent of Americans now plan to keep working beyond their normal retirement age. Whats more, thats the highest percentage of any of the 10 countries Aviva surveyed. Social Security Tax Reduction Boosts Personal Income 1 Percent

Posted by Jesse Shand On Feb - 25 - 2017

Social Security Tax Reduced 2 Percentage Points

As a part of the major tax reform effort that took effect at the end of last year, Social Security tax was reduced 2 percent. This reduction serves as a replacement for the Making Work Pay tax credit taxpayers received in 2009 and 2010.

So far, the reduction has resulted in a 1-percent jump in personal income. B

$100 Cash bonus for a checking account with M&T Bank

Posted by Jorja Marion On Feb - 25 - 2017

M&T Bank will give you a checking account bonus of $100 in cash if you add a direct deposit to your MyChoice Checking Account. If you already have this checking account with them, you need to activate the direct deposit feature within 90 days upon account opening.

The $100 bonus will be credited to your checking account after you post your first direct deposit. This promo still runs but can be stopped by the bank any time without notice. M&T limits the cash bonus to one for every customer.

The MyChoice Checking Account does not charge any monthly service fee if the account holder makes at least 10 purchases or payments using the check card every month. You can also avoid the monthly fee if you can maintain at least a $500 average daily balance.
