Complications of X
Complications of X investigates how various forms of memoir can demonstrate the splintered sense of self and fragmented memory with my experience of the eating disorder anorexia nervosa.
This project explores the space between a writer and their written work and the temporal divide between the self of experience and the self on the page.
I have experimented with voice, tense and narrative form to create a memoir of my experience. In sharing my story, I have explored my practice as a creative nonfiction writer and investigated the parallels between the act of writing and the eating-disordered experience.
